“Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.

If we had not winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.
John Keats
A thing of beauty is a joy forever: its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness.
Alfred Lord Tennyson
There has fallen a splendid tear
From the passion-flower at the gate.
She is coming, my dove, my dear;
She is coming, my life, my fate;
The red rose cries, “She is near, she is near;”
And the white rose weeps, “She is late;”
The larkspur listens, “I hear; I hear;”
And the lily whispers, “I wait.
Alfred Lord Tennyson
Love’s arms were wreathed about the neck of Hope,
And Hope kiss’d Love, and Love drew in her breath
In that close kiss and drank her whisper’d tales.
They said that Love would die when Hope was gone.
And Love mourn’d long, and sorrow’d after Hope;
At last she sought out Memory, and they trod
The same old paths where Love had walked with Hope,
And Memory fed the soul of Love with tears.
Mother Teresa
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.
D. H. Lawrence
Love is the flower of life, and blossoms unexpectedly and without law, and must be plucked where it is found, and enjoyed for the brief hour of its duration.
Steve Jobs

Life
Anyone can carry his burden, however hard, until nightfall. Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day. Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely, till the sun goes down. And this is all that life really means.
Henry David Thoreau
If a man is alive, there is always danger that he may die, though the danger must be allowed to be less in proportion as he is dead and alive to begin with. A man sits as many risks as he runs.
Life As A Stage Of Roles – Yusuf Abdulazeez Ojo
Life as stage of roles,
everyone performs when it’s time,
We take new roles as we grow
We take new roles by what we know,
Our performances on each role based on our ability
Could be through faith, status, wealth, beauty, character,
Some take bad roles,
A few take good roles,
In between the entrance and exist, we coexist
we perform our destiny
from entrance to exist we choose our choice,
what we do affects another at work, all linked together,
our present affect, our absent affect,
both the young ones and old ones have many roles to play
Our roles end when we are dead
Certainly,
Best of roles are for Allah, the worst roles aim for world.
Allah shall reward us based on aim. Aamiin

A girl in the middle years also becomes more centered in her soul-life, the feelings of her heart, and she needs our guidance to learn to express her uniqueness, those small seeds that will someday sprout into gifts, talents, and resources.
Marvin Cohen
My friend devotes himself to his life, whenever he can find the spare time. His motto is: ‘Don’t just sit there: live!’ So he’s too busy to stand, to walk, to do anything, except to live. He even refused to kiss a girl, when invited, on the grounds that it was time again to be living. Schedules are sacred to him.
Frances Ellen Watkins Harper
Political life in our country has plowed in muddy channels, and needs the infusion of clearer and cleaner waters. I am not sure that women are naturally so much better than men that they will clear the stream by the virtue of their womanhood; it is not through sex but through character that the best influence of women upon the life of the nation must be exerted.
Horace
The mind that is cheerful at present will have no solicitude for the future and will meet the bitter occurrences of life with a smile.
Oliver Wendell Holmes
Life is a romantic business. it is painting a picture, not doing a sum but you have to make the romance, and it will come to the question of how much fire you have in your belly.
Life – Janyth Marie Banfield
Life’ it’s not easy, it comes with its bumps and it grinds.
Picking us up at times in our lives then kicking us straight from behind.
But one thing I’ve noticed as time goes by the humor that you behold
God has bestowed a magnificent gift that never makes people grow old.
Life – Fern Conger Palleson
Life is a dream to some.
Drifting without a goal.
Life is a tragedy to others,
Without knowledge of the soul.
Life can be what you make it.
With courage undaunted and strong.
If you try to do the best you can.
Instead of just drifting along.
Life is earnest, Life is demanding,
When we live by Universal Law.
For the laws are unfailing and true,
For the flawless action we feel awe.
Universal Law was in the beginning,
And will last for ever more.
When we live by these Laws
Life will cease to be a chore.
So live a life of one who knows,
That unseen Laws govern all.
Then your life will run smoothly,
There will never be a fall.
Candle – Hiroshi Satow
you look pale,
alone in the dark staggering;
so does my life.
and you’ll be extinguished,
transient but not meaningless;
so do I wish my life would be.
Life – Haiku
Life is short
Leaves have dried and fallen
Time is running out
Poem – Life
The beauty of Earth,
The majesty of Water,
The freedom of Air,
The power of Fire.
The influence of Light,
The destruction of Darkness,
It all gives Life to souls of the world.
Who themselves are awed by the greatness of the Elements.
But Life is an element itself.
Buried deep within the bodies and the minds,
Is the Truth.
Vitality
Blind Man – Rohit Singh
I saw a blind man, today.
He was trembling on his way.
There, standing.
I started wondering.
I wanted to help him as much as I can.
But how much can I really help that old man?
I am using all that I have and all that I can get,
For my life to be set,
But I am nowhere near to getting that done.
And I am still looking at the sun.
Even if I work all my life,
I am not sure enough that,
I can solve his strife.
But there are some,
Who don’t need to pay to live.
You know where they are from! ! !
There they can’t even see any blind man’s strife,
In their whole life.
Philosophy of Love – Tulsi Shrestha
The pages of rhythm of my own life
Never matched with content of rhymes.
Like a couple, one can’t see
and another can’t hear.
She cannot perceive the most enchanting
voice and melody of her own beloved.
He cannot watch the most gorgeous
beauty of his own beloved.
Still they are perfect and ideal couple
in reflection of society and culture.
All his songs reveal beauty of femininity.
But none of them create image in mirror.
Her beloved prepared a full page of essay
explaining excellence of music and melody.
She is beyond his imagination.
He is indeed beyond her perception.
But souls of these two,
dissolve inside one platform.
Both of them remind it as
ecstasy of passionate
Love.

poem – life
CHILDREN, ye have not lived, to you it seems
Life is a lovely stalactite of dreams,
Or carnival of careless joys that leap
About your hearts like billows on the deep
In flames of amber and of amethyst.
Children, ye have not lived, ye but exist
Till some resistless hour shall rise and move
Your hearts to wake and hunger after love,
And thirst with passionate longing for the things
That burn your brows with blood-red sufferings.
Till ye have battled with great grief and fears,
And borne the conflict of dream-shattering years,
Wounded with fierce desire and worn with strife,
Children, ye have not lived: for this is life.
English Poem – Against Wrongs Done Me – Terry Dawson
Against Wrongs Done Me
Against wrongs done me
My spirit raged
Hatred-blinded, I cannot see
That lust for vengeance
Keeps my spirit caged.
Great misfortune I wish upon my foe.
In imaginings I see
Him downfallen; his life blood aflow,
His discomforts all serve
To unleash my spiteful glee
All-demanding becomes my ire,
Unstinting do I spend
To fuel the all-consuming fire,
That feeds the demon, Wroth
That plain forbids an end.
Now unfurls a new design,
Unscripted lines are penned,
Up-ending all cruel schemes of mine –
Death stalks my halls; I fear
For my untimely end.
Spared from death, I behold
Life in different light,
New horizons promise gifts untold;
Sunshine pours like healing balm into
My long, hate-filled dark night.
My heart forgives all, of him
Who earned my enmity
And as by a whim
His dark, all-overshadowing cloud
Is gone and I am free!
Glad, unbound, my soul exalts,
My spirit learns to sing
Unencumbered by past faults,
Constrained no more by baleful hate
the crippled bird takes wing!
English Poem – Life Is A Sailing Ship – Toshie Nohara
Life is a
Sailing ‘ship’
With lots of adventures
It needs a captain
To weather through life’s storms
A wrong decision for
A solution by the captain
Through panic
The ship surely sinks like
The Titanic!
But the captain with
Pure determination
Will steer the ‘ship’ to
Her destination
To greener pastures
New places,
Admire interesting faces
Life is running a big
Race
Trying to meet one’s
Satisfaction
Trying to prove one’s
Quality of
Life
And overcoming any
Hardship
Without loosing
friendship
By appreciating other’s
advice or
Avoiding secrets and
Lies
Whether one’s ship is
Big or small
Her master should
Stand tall
Without loosing
Confidence
So having perseverance is
Evidence of facing
The world with
Hope
With tears or
Laughter in
One’s own ship to
Cope
When one is
The only master
Charting the
Course of life
Accepting the
Adventure with a
Smile for a bright
Future
Life is a
Sailing ‘ship’
With lots of adventure
Life is patience,
Don’t be mad
Life is faith
So be glad
Life is endurance
That’s a fact
Life is love
Remember that
For God is Love
That’s true
Life is a
Journey we go
Through
Life is believing and
Trusting in
God from above
Life is God’s
Gift
To be treasured with
Daily thanksgiving.
